Upon your first visit to Galaxy Surfactants, Galaxy sends a "cookie"1 to your computer. A cookie is a file that identifies you as a unique Customer. It may store personal preferences and Customer data. In no way does this tell us that you're "Bob Smith."

Galaxy Surfactants has two primary uses for its cookies. First, we use them to specify unique preferences. We use cookies to track Customer trends and patterns. This helps us better understand and improve areas of the Galaxy Surfactants service that our Customers find valuable. While both of these activities depend on the use of a "cookie," visitors to Galaxy Surfactants always have the option of disabling cookies via their browser preferences.

Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, note that some parts of the Galaxy service may not function properly if you refuse cookies.

There are links to other sites from Galaxy Surfactants pages that take you outside our service. For example, if you "click" on a banner advertisement or an Galaxy search result, the "click" may take you off the Galaxy Surfactants site. This includes links from advertisers, channel sponsors and partners that may use Galaxy Surfactants's logo as part of a co-branding agreement. These other sites may send their own cookies to Customers, collect data or solicit personal information. Always be aware of where you end up!

Galaxy Surfactant's policy does not extend to anything that is inherent in the operation of the Internet, and therefore beyond Galaxy Surfactants's control, and is not to be applied in any manner contrary to applicable law or governmental regulation. We reserve the right at our discretion to make changes to this policy at any time. Please check this page periodically for changes.

A message given to a web browser by a Web server. The browser stores the message in a text file called for example cookie.txt. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. The main purpose of cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized web pages for them. When you enter a web site using cookies, you may be asked to fill out a form providing such information as your name and interests. This information is packaged into a cookie and sent to your web browser which stores it for later use. The next time you go to the same web site, your browser will send the cookie to the Web server. The server can use this information to present you with custom web pages. So, for example, instead of seeing just a generic welcome page you might see a welcome page with your name on it. The name cookie derives from UNIX objects called magic cookies. These are tokens that are attached to a user or program and change depending on the areas entered by the user or programme. Cookies are also sometimes called persistent cookies because they typically stay in the browser for long periods of time.
